in 1999 i bought two small halon fire extinguishers from amt netherlands (www.amtjets.nl).
last year in sept, due to a hot start, i had the opportunity to test these extinguishers.

i can only warn everybody to use these ones: halon seems to be very aggressive to all metals. everything was oxydating and rusty. the steel wires of the aileron and flap hinges (bandit) caused them to seeze. everything inside the turbine looked like after a nuclear attack (although had been repaired).
the damage of the fire was equal to the damage of the extinguisher.
i think CO2 extinguisher is the better way.
