$150 for the FULL kit!
Either the bidder had no idea, and didn't bother to do a search, or this poor ol' plane is destined for the shelf.
About 5 years ago when I got back into R/C I was on the look out for a nice CG Skylark MKII.
I found one and paid a bit for it, $220[:@]. My old modeling buddies felt it was stupid to buy a kit that was outdated and then plan build a somewhat collector kit. My arguement is that I always wanted one to build and fly, just couldn't afford it earning $3.50/ hour back then. I could have searched for plans, got some wood, maybe a canopy, but I figured that I would have spent around $100 for that. Another $100 or so for a mint kit sounds better, but $455 for a kit that is available for $150... just not original, come on. Now there's people who think any old plane is worth a crazy amount of money. Like the antique lady trying to sell a beat up C/L airframe for 375. I'll bet she has no idea what name the plane is. I don't know maybe it's that "rustic" phase that seems to be the fashion.
I really wish manufacturers would come out with some good decent kits!!!
Or maybe the companies that are still producing kits, come out with a new kit every once in a while.
