I bought a Garmin Foretrex 201 (wristband size gps) for measuring windsurfing speeds and tracks. I've also placed it in the fuse of RC models. It seems accurate as long as the sampling interval is set to the minimum and the plane is flown in a smooth race track pattern. If you fly tall verticals, the max speed numbers go nuts.
