RE: DL-50 engine
Well I started my DL50 for the first time yesterday, and all I can say is man this engine runs great. We ran 3 tanks through it on the ground just because we liked the wat it sounded. The low end transition is great no burble.
I also got my first three flights in today. I have the DL mounted in a Wild Hare 50cc Sukette with a JR 9303 2.4 spread Spektrum radio. AUW of the plane is 17lbs 6 oz., I'm running a Xoar 22x8 and after the 3rd tank I was getting 6760 rpm with a relaible idle of 1550rpm. Our weather was about 40 degrees and overcast at 900 feet ASL. The only reason I quit flying was I used blue loctie on the muffler bolts and they came loose and I lost one. Next time I'll use red loctyite unless someone has a better solution.
The DL50 is a perfect match for this airframe. In fact two DA guys at our field were waiting to see mine run before they bought theirs, Their last words were they were headed to place their order.
