RE: DL50 ignition pack
Here's the email i got from Bob at DLUSA on the very same subject.
My question: Can I use a 5 cell NIMH pack unregulated for the ignition battery
without damaging the ignition?

His response: Hi Paul,
I have been told specifically by the manufacturer not to do so. 5 cell packs
are to be regulated to 6V as the ignition is rated for up to but not beyond
6V. There are some people on the forums that are and so far, have been OK. I
have sold replacement ignitions to others who have not been so lucky. My
recommendation is to use a 4 cell (4.8V) battery.
