I think most of us just snip off the "hook" that grabs the actuator plate. NEVER remove the spring, that permits the throttle butterfly to vibrate and wear in the venturi. Not good. You are right about servo load, it's not good to have that constant spring tension against it, but.... that is an opinion/preference item. Some guys, like QQ Somenzini, leaves the return spring on, and uses a single cable to the servo.
