My company here in central California is always having a hard time finding technically skilled people. We need people to service forklift trucks, especially the Jungheirnich electrics from Germany (you wouldn't even have to translate the manuals...). I know this doesn't exactly match what you've been doing but I'm sure you could learn based on your skills. The weather here is hot & dry all summer then cool & damp all winter. The winters are mild enough though that we still manage to get in quite a few flying days as long as you don't mind the cool mornings or waiting for fog to lift. We have a great RC club with a nice flying field.
