[snip]

I'm dying to see a Hanger 9 Tango in person. It has the appearances of a good second plane on the low rates.
A guy at my field has one. I've watched it fly.. (I think I've got video of it too.) It's a wild little bird. It's actually kind of funny looking when you watch it fly. Everybody at my field agrees: "It looks like it needs another foot of wingspan".

Greg, the owner, had it up the last time I was there. He was flying it 'round. Flat spins, rolls, loops, you name it, it did it. "The meerest touch on the sticks and it's flipping all over the sky." He said.

I replied. "I think you could move the sticks in a totally random fashion and it'd look cool." He just laughed and agreed.

He added about 4" to the end of each wing, he said it really improved the predictability of it. The wings normally have a flat end, he added a flat piece along the center of the wing. So the wings come to a point. (Hard to explain, I've seen this triangle tip on a lot of symmetrical wings.)

Hmmm. Doesn't sound like a good second plane then. Which is neither good nor bad for the Tango. I had a Kangke SK-50 that could probably have been a good second plane but it landed a bit hot as I had it propped with an 11X6. With an 11X5 and a .46 to .50 engine it was a splendid flier; but it could still bite you if you weren't on top of it. His .65LA would not be suitable.

I guess then I'd have to go with a .60 size Big Stik converted to a tail-dragger.
