Hi my name is agexpert and I am a foam addict. It all started when.....
Go to
http://www.chargerrc.com and get a CR-1, a Shifty or a YAK. The 260 is AWESOME, but pretty advanced. If you are new-ish to 3D, get the CR-1...period. It does everything well. If you are working on continuous rolling manuevers, i.e. rolling circles, rolling harriers...get a 260 or Shifty. If you are working on hovers, get a CR-1 or a Yak. If you are proficient at all levels, get a 260.
I fly foam every single day and I have flown most of the junk that is available. There are some quality foamies out there these days, but IMHO...these are the best.
THE MOTOR for these planes is the HACKER 20-26M...not the larger one, and nothing smaller. The best servos, so far have been the Futaba 3114 analogs...digitals are not needed for foam, IMHO. Get THUNDER POWER 1320 LiPo's...period. I have tried to save a buck and learned ...don't make that mistake.
The best part about foam is that I can fly it anywhere...ANYWHERE! I fly in lighted parking lots at night and...pretty much anywhere I want during the day...and it really helps keep my brain trained for my big stuff. Th eonly problem is that gas has nowhere near the PW ratio of foam...it can catch you off-guard.
