Ive taken my hobby level of helis to the next step and will continue to progress and learn.
But theres something about my slowstick that made me want an airplane that i could always take a break from helis and just have fun. I am getting my PPL and i just love planes, but i love rc helis more.
I need a RTF or ARTF ( and i mean almost, if i have to put stuff to gether ill go crazy ) electric plane that i can fly in parks or backyard acreage (4-5)
It needs to have ailerons, and be a decent plane but not totally over my head.
any suggestions would be great.
If i cant find something i will have to resort to buying on of the ones hanging in the rc hobby shop :P

that plane is too "beginner" for me.
I wanted ailerons, elevator, rudder, pretty fast but not too fast, just a great flyer.

Hi my name is agexpert and I am a foam addict. It all started when.....
Go to http://www.chargerrc.com and get a CR-1, a Shifty or a YAK. The 260 is AWESOME, but pretty advanced. If you are new-ish to 3D, get the CR-1...period. It does everything well. If you are working on continuous rolling manuevers, i.e. rolling circles, rolling harriers...get a 260 or Shifty. If you are working on hovers, get a CR-1 or a Yak. If you are proficient at all levels, get a 260.
I fly foam every single day and I have flown most of the junk that is available. There are some quality foamies out there these days, but IMHO...these are the best.
THE MOTOR for these planes is the HACKER 20-26M...not the larger one, and nothing smaller. The best servos, so far have been the Futaba 3114 analogs...digitals are not needed for foam, IMHO. Get THUNDER POWER 1320 LiPo's...period. I have tried to save a buck and learned ...don't make that mistake.
The best part about foam is that I can fly it anywhere...ANYWHERE! I fly in lighted parking lots at night and...pretty much anywhere I want during the day...and it really helps keep my brain trained for my big stuff. Th eonly problem is that gas has nowhere near the PW ratio of foam...it can catch you off-guard.

The Parkzone Typhoon 2 RTF should be a pretty good choice. You might also look at some of the RTF planes available from http://www.parkflyers.com like their Edge 540, Extra 330L, or GeeBee 3D Profile.
These are all true Ready-to-Fly aircraft and can be flown in smaller spaces.
Good luck and good shopping!

I was the same as you an didn't want to build a thing considering it a complete waste of time doing something I really didn't understand / enjoy !!!!!!
In the end I realised that the quality available for ARTF was much better overall than RTF and now see it as a neccassary evil unfortuntely to get something decent at the end.
Some of the suggestions being made if you've only flown a slowstick they'll be way too advanced and will be bin fodder in seconds unless you've more experience than your portraying.
If you're prepared to do "some" building with really simple to follow intsructions would have a serious look at some of the Multiplex options depending on what level you're at, either the MiniMag, Easystar 2, or Gemini but if you are quite a bit more advanced and could handle the Typhoon would possibly look at the Acromaster as an alternative which is what I've flown for the last 4 months and it's as tough as old boots.
If I'd found the quality of RTF's nearly as good I wouldn't have gone to ARTF myself so do know exactly where you're coming from and just thought I'd throw it up as a possible half way house with a better end product !!!!!!!

Well, personally, unless you have had some experience with sport planes, (no dihedral, symetrical wings) I believe a 3d plane would be quite a bit for you to handle.

if you already have gear consider a f27c stryker pnp. i also love the superflyrc planes for banking and yanking, needs to be built but can be done in a couple of hours.
