Default RE: Need a gift idea ( 3d plane )

I was the same as you an didn't want to build a thing considering it a complete waste of time doing something I really didn't understand / enjoy !!!!!!
In the end I realised that the quality available for ARTF was much better overall than RTF and now see it as a neccassary evil unfortuntely to get something decent at the end.
Some of the suggestions being made if you've only flown a slowstick they'll be way too advanced and will be bin fodder in seconds unless you've more experience than your portraying.
If you're prepared to do "some" building with really simple to follow intsructions would have a serious look at some of the Multiplex options depending on what level you're at, either the MiniMag, Easystar 2, or Gemini but if you are quite a bit more advanced and could handle the Typhoon would possibly look at the Acromaster as an alternative which is what I've flown for the last 4 months and it's as tough as old boots.
If I'd found the quality of RTF's nearly as good I wouldn't have gone to ARTF myself so do know exactly where you're coming from and just thought I'd throw it up as a possible half way house with a better end product !!!!!!!
