Default RE: Props

never run it myself.

I have run the 16.5-10 3blade Bolly on a 140DZ years ago. It was awesome in the performance category and I would have used it but........

The noise was 100db with the engine turning it at 7900rpm. I had to dial the rpms back to 7200 before the noise was at the 94db limit on pavement. At this rpm the performance was not good at all.

Not sure on the Mejzlik offering but I do know that the 18-10 they make is good if you keep the rpms down again it gets too noisy. This is why many of the top pilots have gone back to the 16 and 17 inch blades or the 4 blade props.

Smaller diamters are quieter for the given rpms....if you runa 17" prop at 8000rpm it will be on the limit for FAI noise. So many have tried the 16.5-13W and even the 17-12W props for noise....
