i agree that you should get rid of the ratchet feel. another thing is, and i'm not sure whether your radio has this option, is programable mixing. because you lose lift when you move the elevator or aileron stick you can mix in elevator with throttle. what this does is allows you to increase the throttle when you push forward on the elevator to start forward flight, this means you can reduce or even eliminate the requirement to increase throttle at the same time.

go through your manual and see if you have programmable mixing available.
