Default RE: YS WARNING

Speaking strictly from personal experience and not taking sides here, I recently sent a blown ( rod went through the case) YS 120FZ to Rich. The repair is excellent and I know that I couldn't find a used one for $100 bucks more than the parts/ labor incurred with this motor. My engine is essentially brand new and a used YS120FZ would have been , well, just used. The way I rationalize repairing a motor like a YS is to forget the original cost because I got the use from it ( in my case 300+ flights )and therefore, my monies worth. If the damage to one of my engines was the result of a crash , I feel that's the nature of this hobby, period. Having a motor like a YS new again for a fraction of the original cost ( even if it's 3/4) is just icing on the cake.
