Gravity feed does not play a role here......................
it does when it comes to the vents and it draining out on the ground when the turbine isn't running.
KC the main tanks feed the hopper which is elevated or level and will not drain out the vent. the pickup from the mains enter the vent of the hopper, air flow through the hopper is prevented by the fuel pump and solenoid valve. unless the vent was on the bottom of an elevated hopper and air was allowed to flow freely from the pick up would you experiance the senerio you speak
