Good point.

I too was a little confused, as to why this part is in black plastic and not metal.

Also i found that this black plastic bearing holder was stiff to turn, so we slackened the locknut off a little, and then found that there was too much play.

We thought it best to take this apart and found that there was no spacer/ washer between the two bearings, so when you tighten the locknut up,the bearings simply tighten up. To fix this we put a very thin washer between the two bearings, which helped no end.

The Hawk has flown with this linkage now, with no problems. However a Aluminium would give me greater piece of mind.

Does anyone know why we are supplied with black plastic, instead of an Aluminium part, as shown in the Manual??
