Please don't take this wrong; but if you've never built a balsa kit before, this is the wrong one to start with. I had three kits under my belt before I started this one, and about 15 under my belt by the time I finished it. It is a complex build, and you need to know some fundamentals of working with balsa and reading plans to succeed with this particular kit.

I agree very strongly with the above statement, this is not a plane you would want to do as your first build. Try a Sig kit as a start, the 1/6 or 30 size cub will hone your building skills.
