Default RE: Problem with evolution 26 gt2 !!!

Premium gas burns slower and could cause it to feel rich but it would have to be a big jump in octane. I am talking about 114 octane VP in a stock engine built to run 87. This would cause a reduction in power, a reduction in measured plug tip temperature which could in turn lead to fouling. If plug tip temps go much below 700 F the plug starts to have problems .Going from 87 to 93 would not be an issue but running the lowest octane possible will give the best performance contrary to popular belief. Ashless oil is always the best to run. Why oils with ash are still being made today is a mystery to me. There is no need of it. TCW although an outdated ancient ratinging system is really all you have to go by. TCW 3 oils are all pretty good, heck even the TCW 2 stuff is perfectly acceptable. We are not dealing with high HP engines. If we were our 50cc engines would run about 10HP. Thats following the warranty guidelines we used to have of 20 hp per 100cc's in order to qualify for warranty coverage by our engine supplier. We are all using low HP engines in our aircraft.
