RE: Lanier Giant Stinger w/ 50 cc engine
Mine is kit built with a G-62 for power..........the plane is designed for the G-62, the print you get with a kit shows the 62 on the nose.
I thought I'd lighten things up so I had my G-62 converted to EI...........caused all kinds of balance problems for me.....I've got two 2700mah Rx batteries and a 1100mah EI battery up with the fuel tank and I can barely make the CG..........I hate adding useless lead up front but I may still have to......it flies well but wants to bunny hop down the runway on landing...........so, the moral of the story is, be ready to have a CG issue with a 50cc engine........it is a short nose airframe and needs the weight of a stock G-62 up front to make the CG. My AUW weight is 20 lbs.
You won't believe how slow this plane will fly for its size..............I was amazed.....once
you get it trimmed you are going to love it. A good 50cc engine will pull it around fine if you don't get it to heavy. Stay under 20 lbs if you can.............
