Pat,
Had a Zenoah G-62 in mine several years ago. Good combination, I would think a 50cc would work well, especially the newer ones with electronic ignition.

Hi Pat, I have one with a G62 useing a 22x8 menz prop. Mine is a kit built and weighs 20 lbs with a smoke system. If you can keep your weight down under 19 lbs. it should fly fine. I enjoy flying mine and it handles great. Wayne M.

Mine is kit built with a G-62 for power..........the plane is designed for the G-62, the print you get with a kit shows the 62 on the nose.
I thought I'd lighten things up so I had my G-62 converted to EI...........caused all kinds of balance problems for me.....I've got two 2700mah Rx batteries and a 1100mah EI battery up with the fuel tank and I can barely make the CG..........I hate adding useless lead up front but I may still have to......it flies well but wants to bunny hop down the runway on landing...........so, the moral of the story is, be ready to have a CG issue with a 50cc engine........it is a short nose airframe and needs the weight of a stock G-62 up front to make the CG. My AUW weight is 20 lbs.
You won't believe how slow this plane will fly for its size..............I was amazed.....once
you get it trimmed you are going to love it. A good 50cc engine will pull it around fine if you don't get it to heavy. Stay under 20 lbs if you can.............

Nimffish,
Here's something to consider. Even though a 50cc engine is lighter than a G62, if you get an engine like a DA50R, the motor will actually sit further in front of the firewall due to the rear mounted carburator. This may offset the difference in the weight of the motors.
The more I think about this post as I type it, the more I realize that you already know this. Good luck with your plane and keep us posted.
Happy New Year

Hi Wayne,
Thanks for sending the pic's. Looks like a nice bird. I don't think I will have mind ready until spring. My friend found these on sale at Tower so I got one on the way. Looks like I will get it on Thursday this week. Who knows I might just really hit the card and buy the other stuff I need. HEHEHEHE!
Happy New Year To All You Flyers Out There!!!!!!!!!
