RE: Phoenix Simulator or XTR
I have RealFlight 3.5 and don't like it much. I use it on a 22" flat screen monitor and the Helis & planes are too small to see very quickly after launch. I watched folks using Phoenix at my LHS and was very impressed. He said it uses much less computer memory. The Heli remained in sight & identifiable for a longer time and everything seemed to be realistic & easier to use. Also, I can use my DX7 with it and this just makes sense to me.
The LHS did not have any in stock & did not know when it would be available., so I ordered one from Heliguy. The price was nowhere near $200. delivered to Arkansas from the UK. You will like the price. Try: heliguy.com PayPal was OK
Things like reflections of a Heli sitting in a shallow puddle of water on the shore of a lake, the ripples on the water when flying over in ground effect & the sounds of an electric Heli were all realistic. So was the sound of a crash (intended) into the lake. A great splooosh.
I think I am going to finally enjoy a sim.[8D]
