uh, well, It does make the truck a weeee bit heavier, and it adds a bit of rotating mass to the drivetrain. But unless you are a hardcore racer, it works just fine. I haven't ever stripped any gears due to the reverse.

I have a 144 oz reverse servo in mine and it is way more than enough, doesnt take much to shift it, just enough to counter the spring.
