Default Nemesis Reverse

I was talking to someone about reverse and they where all like it will slow the truck down, and will cause gears to strip and all this bad stuff. I really think the nemesis is a stronger truck then what he is used to... Anyways who has installed reverse on the nemesis? Did it slow down the truck at all or cause any noticable problems.

Thanks

Nick

uh, well, It does make the truck a weeee bit heavier, and it adds a bit of rotating mass to the drivetrain. But unless you are a hardcore racer, it works just fine. I haven't ever stripped any gears due to the reverse.

I have a 144 oz reverse servo in mine and it is way more than enough, doesnt take much to shift it, just enough to counter the spring.

Dustin is right it will add ait more weight and rotating mass to your tranny but that wont cause the stripping, shifting it in to reverse while its still spining will kill the tranny fro sure. So you need to be very sure the truck is completely stpped before you flip that reverse switch!! Been there done that!!

well i bought the reverse and was looking though the manual and noticed you have to take apart the center diff. Why? there is something in the back of it saying locking the diff makes more wheelies adn harder on the drive train. Is the parts in the reverse kit for the center diff to lock it?? Also for some reason the linkage dose not come with the reverse kit... So i am going to rig up some jato linkage. The only problem i see is that there is a spring on both sides of the leaver but i dont have any extra springs. If i use the end point adjustments on my radio so the servo dose not move as far will it be ok w/o the springs??

You could use about 1" of Fuel tubing to act springs then adjust the the EPA on your radio, that should work!!

thats a good idea! Then i can still have constant pressure on it w/o the stress on the servo.

Thanks TRD.

Yeah the nemesis is forward only so it only has one gear on the center diff. well reverse in this tranny requires two gears on the center diff. The gears are on either side of the diff case and one side is for forward and the other side is for reverse.

Hope This Helps!!!
