I suspect the covering job I did added at most 2 oz over the original covering. Although the original covering is clear (which is lighter than colors) it has probably 60% double covering with all the colored patches. My colored covering is heavier than the clear, but I have less double covering.

The only hardware from the kit I used was 2 metal hinges on each elevator, and the wing mount and LG mounting screws. Ailerons got 5 Nylon Klett hinges each, Rudder got a hinge of my own design. I used the supplied fuel tank. All control rods are 4-40, clevises are Sullivan Gold Clevis, Horns are heavy duty Dubro. I beefed up the horizontal stabilizer and did not install flying wires.
