ORIGINAL: Snaer810

Afternoon Guys,

Can someone advise me on how to tell the difference between the V! and V2 ignition system? Bought mine thru Bob last June and am thiniking of using the new 1100mah VPX pack to power the Ing., but that's to much voltage for the V1. I did see a stamp on the case that inidcates 4.8 or 6V....just wasn't sure what that was telling me exactly. It does not have the version stamped on the case.

Thanks for any help.

Mike
If you don't want to stray from the manufacturers recommendations you could just throw in a diode as discussed it this thread:

http://www.rcuniverse.com/forum/fb.asp?m=6782216

A single silicone diode will drop the voltage by ~0.7V, and the A123's voltage will drop to ~6.6 volt very quickly, so you will be below 6v for everything after the first 30 sec. of flight.
