I use pine tar, like on baseball bats. I buy it the local sporting goods store. Comes is a squeeze bottle, and they also have it in airosol--smells pretty good too. Wipe off with alcohol, but it will get on your clothes. $3.00 for a bottle (6-8 OZ).
