I also use the Wallace "Sticky Stuff"
But there are a lot of really good alternitives out there. Pretty much anything that makes your finger stick will work on the streamers as well. I thought there was a list posted on this site a little while ago of other forms of stickum.

Since you're across the BIG pond. The easiest stuff to try might be good old bee's honey.
I works great!
Warm water on a rag will clean it off (if you survive the combat, that is).

Tangle Foot is available at garden supply places and is similar to Wallace stuff but has a thinner consistancy. It doesn't get so thick when it is cold also. Comes in a tube or a tube or a calk gun type tube.

I've only seen Tanglefoot in a tub which looked like too much trouble to bother with. A caulking gun would be a nice way to apply the stuff, I'll have to go look for that.

I use pine tar, like on baseball bats. I buy it the local sporting goods store. Comes is a squeeze bottle, and they also have it in airosol--smells pretty good too. Wipe off with alcohol, but it will get on your clothes. $3.00 for a bottle (6-8 OZ).

Any web-fed press operators out there?
What's that tape called, you put on a new roll at the splicers, for flying pasters?
If nobody knows it right off... I'll look it up tonight. It's been a long time for me.
Still, I bet it would be great in this application. Sticky as heck.
You apply the stuff, then peel off the backing, leaving nothing but adhesive.
It's like double sided tape, only there's no tape in the middle
Never flew combat before, but I lurk here frequently these days...
I'm afraid I may become infected someday, but I just can't help myself

There ya go.
I suspect if it'll latch onto a 48" web doing 35k+ impressions per hour,
it'll probably snag a crepe paper streamer with little difficulty, too.
As I recall, it cleans off fairly easily with alcohol.

another good substitute is Karo syrup.
Bring so bread and like the Honey you can get a energy boost and it also is thinner in the cold than the honey in my area.
I know Houston dosen't get cold, oh well.

I have a combat and have the same question, in Texas it is hot in the summer. What is the best soulution. Will double sided stickey tape work? DId i mention it was hot?

Karo works here in Houston. Just the number of times you apply will vary with your ability of getting streamers to remove it.
