How you establish the c/g will pretty much determine where the prop ends up. Round cowl planes benefit from having the prop more forward of the cowl than "standard" cowled planes but if you have all the thrust you need, run with what you have. Tom's point was a very good one. At 1/2" or so he had all the thrust he needed. Why change?
