Default RE: Parkflyer Vintage Pattern?

ORIGINAL: navav2002

There is some "Dude-a" around here who has a 25 size Aurora...Has to be one of the Kewlest things!! Got a pipe...Painted up real nice...I'm gonna see if I can find a picture of his airplane...I Love that thing...

Jim's baby Aurora is *really* nice and flies as nice as it looks. We flew it one day last fall. It took a bit of work to get the engine running smoothly (hadn't been started in a looooong time), but then it had great power. Unfortunately we didn't realize we had the rudder reversed.... His son, Jason, flew the first flight and had an interesting landing after the engine died, but it came out ok. On the 2nd flight I got to fly it and made it look pretty good in the air except that my slow roll looked really bad. I didn't know why it looked so bad until I tried a stall turn right afterward and kept feeding in rudder, then more, then more, and watched it go the other way.... At that point I realized what was wrong and handed it back to Jason to land. I figured that he's family, so if anything happened to it and Jim killed him, at least Jim would get the insurance payoff. Thankfully (and in no part to Jason's skills), it was brought back to earth safely.

Hopefully Jim will get it out again soon and give me some stick time. Jimbo?????? Ya out there?????
