I used one of these in my gallon jug as a clunk/filter and after ~ 2 years the brass was weakened and broke at the filter junction due to fuel interacting with the brass. Now this was constantly submerged in fuel which is much different than using it in a tank, but look at the tubing and see if there is any green discoloration which will indicate fuel eating away at the brass.
