RE: DL-50 engine
Got flight number 9 on my DL-50 powered Patty Wagstaff on Saturday. I leaned out the low needle a bit more and now the thing is just insane. Went vertical from takeoff up to about 200 feet at 1/2 throttle. I'm running a throttle curve verified by tachometer so it was actually 50% power. Nuts. The DA50 crew at the field was flabbergasted.
Residue is now almost nil. The worst thing about these DL50s is that now I want to get another, to put in a different plane. Yikes.
I haven't leaned the top end out completely yet, but it's turning a Menz 22x8 at 7350 rpm.
