RE: Comp ARF Flash update
Thanks Bob for posting on my behalf. I had my hands full on the maiden flight of this bird and it's just pure luck (and maybe a little skill) that I got her back in one piece. After changing a few things, this jet is a pleasure to fly.
First, my CG was way off...tail heavy and my fault. I rechecked it and found that I needed 2 more ozs in the nose to bring the CG to the midpoint of balance.
Second, the landing flap defection of 65mm is way too much as specified by CompArf. I reduced this to 45mm and what a difference.
Third, the aileron and elevator throws as published are too much...hence the reason for 40% of expo required. I reduced these throws by 2-3 mm and she is spot on.
These are my opinions but I feel CompArf should republish the control throws; especially the flaps.
I put 3 more flights on this bird last weekend and it was a blast to fly. My Flash came out at 24.5 lbs dry...way more heavy than I would have liked but she flies great and sticks to the runway on landing.
The Jet Central Eagle has performed flawlessly...not one problem and I will own more of these turbines. The lifetime warranty is bonus!!!
