Default RE: balsa usa phaeton 90

Thanks so much Charlie,
The article explained what I had been thinking of doing and now I feel confident that it is really the way to go. I will make copies (ply) or more properly, templates of the lower ribs and match the larger uppers with the lower ribs, easy. I like to scratch build so it's the same thing as cutting a new rib but I already have the balsa. This plane is very much like a Lazy Ace I had and foolishly let some one fly once...............
I have flown a stock 90 and they are almost the same as the Lazy Ace, sluggish, and prone to one speed no matter the power but a really nice plane overall, especially on ski's. I do plan on a little bashing to possibly include a round cowel and different tail profile that is less square looking? I am using a TT 91 FS and will mount to balance w/o extra nose weight, a problem with these short nosed planes, at least from my experiance. Overall weight will be watched as closley as possible.

Thanks again, Ask and you shall receive!!!!!!!!!
