I've flown the prototype Aquila quite a bit and there is simply nothing like it in the 1.20 size engine category. It is, simply put, locked. It presents as well as many full 2 meter airplanes. It should, because it's very nearly 2M in length. It's a well engineered airframe which is very strong and rigid, but lightweight. The prototype I flew is just a shade over 9 lbs, so you have no lack of performance on a 1.20. I started with a muffled 1.20 and went to a pipe, mostly because it's quieter and you get much less goop on the airframe.
I would suggest staying tuned to the NE-Aero website for news. This is one worth waiting for.
