RE: DL-50 engine
Hi, I got mine from Ebay for 360 all inclusive delivered in tiny Belgium. It must have cost them a buck to find it on the map.
Was in a party mood and had a few so I took a bid on it still with a flinter of GF45 blues in the back of my mind.
So here it is.
At that time (2 years ago in the middle of the GF45 scourge) I guessed that IF the chinese get the importance of QC established they might break bones under the western modell engine manufacturers and I , reading DL50 reports, tought this may be the time.
My first impression of the engine was next to perfect. Cilinder chrome very smooth, no scratches on the piston and neet castwork.
Only little minus was the spark thread which I think is casted and not machined so a little carefullness here is advised.
Next day was visual inspection at my club. Everyone found it had a nice look but they were understandebly sceptic .
It costed 250 Euro's while a DA50 in Europe 6-bloody-hundred. So it propably would break down on the first flip.
Next day running in. Put it on the stand with stock muffler on it( just to break in because being loud in Belgium is a hanging offense).
It started very easy, ran very smooth and let it continue for an hour or so with intermediate full throttle passages.
And it didn't break down.
AT ALL.
Got a ZDZ50NG, very nice and reliable engine, got a GF45, very beautiful engine and after straightening the crank and fastening the bearings I have some plans for the future with it.
Guys at the club have DA50's which run next to perfect although some broke down( litrally) but got mended for free thanks to the excellent but costly warrantee by it's importer. Other's have His Majesty 3W, no comment about that one.
Do you hear me being happy? wel I am and report you back the moment it stops.
