Well cr@p!! My Phaeton 90 expiration date was yesterday. I noticed a little problem when I rolled inverted early in the second flight of the day. The plane would slowly loose altitude and it took quite a bit of elevator to level it off, which was unusual. So I rolled upright. Tried it again on the next pass and things seemed allright. Later in the flight I rolled inverted again (I kinda do that alot) and it did the same thing as earlier. Only this time I couldnt level off, it had a slight down incline. Then 2 seconds later it drove itself into the ground like it was commanded or servo went to the end of it stop, hard and inverted. Took me 5 minutes of pulling to get the engine out of the ground. The saito 120 has some superficial damage, bent pushrod tubes and broken high speed needle valve and spraybar. Theres no repairing the plane. Everything from the head rest forward is destroyed and the rest of the fuse is split to the tail. It tried to tell me there was a problem, I just didnt listen.
Too bad, it was a great flying plane. Lasted about 6 years and lots and lots of flights. The buds in the pit just rolled the garbage can out to me to bring the plane back. <g>
