Thanks for your responses guys. I did what you suggested and all was OK in those areas. Today I was lucky enought to have an experienced pilot give it a go. After thoroughly checking it on the bench he spooled it up on the floor. First thing was his amazement as to the high head speed. He could not believe what that ESKY BL was doing. He dialed down the throttle curve a whole lot before he found it suitable. He also did some trimming and added expo. Then he was able to do a decent hover and pronounced it flyable. All during this test run the tail remained quite solid and he said that the gyro was doing OK for a rate gyro.

When I got home I powered it up and.....surprise!. The gyro would not lock in. The light flashes very, very fast for a few seconds, then goes into flashing about each second with a strong flash. That's it. No steady light. My guess is that this gyro is a bummer. Perhaps has been intermittent? I can get a replacement under warranty. However, should I upgrade this now. I am just a beginner and perhaps not able to appreciate the finer performance of a quality gyro anyway. But reliability is important. So, do I just replace with stock and see what happens.....or put more money into it now? What do you think???.....Thanks again for your help...Rich
