hi dutch...all of my helis have futaba gy401s -- except the hbk2 which uses a gy240 that i had laying around...both are heading hold, and really lock the tail, unless you give input to move the tail...wind, turbulence, or the normal wishy-washiness of helis won't move the tail --unless you command it to move...sooooo, imho, you should seriously consider a good heading hold gyro...do some research because there are quite a few satisfactory ones that hbk2 flyers use...you should be happy about this 'upgrade opportunity'...most upgrade opportunities require ordering a lot of repair parts, and cause you to regress until you regain confidence to try whatever you were doing when you crashed...lol...ken
