If the plane was similar in size to a sundowner 50 and swinging a chopped 12x10 the engine you probably saw was a YS 63. A 160DZ in a 5 pound plane would never balance, it would only have enough fuel with the stock tank for 4 minute flights, and the engine would not last more than a flight or two with a prop that small on it.
