RE: 8uas & P-80
Scott,
Its really easy to do for the 8U or any other Futaba radios. Simply set your end points for the throttle channel at 100%. Then go into the failsafe menu, scroll to the throttle channel, set it to failsafe (vs. hold) and set the failsafe to throttle all the way down. Now go back to the endpoint menu and set the throttle endpoints to 75%. Then just follow the JetCat manual to do the "learn RC" function.
What you are basically doing is setting up the radio and ECU so that when a failsafe occures, the throttle channel goes to a point that is OUTSIDE the normal range that the ECu sees on the throttle channel (i.e., that you "taught it" in learn RC). This is how the ECU can detect that the radio has gone into failsafe.
The 8U manual is pretty good in showing you how to do end points and failsafe, but if you have any problems, holler and I'll break out my 8U tomorrow evening and get more specific...
