hi rain...i use a futaba 9chps to fly all my helis...it's 72mhz, but a lot of guys are switching to 2.4ghz...i have a futaba 6ex2.4 which i use to fly a giant super sportster plank (81-in wingspan, 17x10 prop, yadayadayada)...here's a link for my futaba 9chps...

your hbk2 will fly just fine with the stock transmitter, so unless you've already become a heli-addict, i'd do just like you're doing -- learning to fly and fine-tune the one you got...that in itself will take a lot of time and $$$...ken
here's a promotional video of the stock hbk2...this might be what got it all started...the brushed motor probably burned-out after that one flight...it's like a kung-fu movie...lol...ken
