The MVVS .49 engine is delivered in side exhaust configuration.
The cylinder assembly bolts into the crankcase. Crankcase and cylinder are not unitary like most 2 stroke engines.
If you want the engine to be rear exhaust, you unbolt the cylinder and head, and and turn the cylinder clockwise 45 degrees. Gently remove and re-align the head, replace the bolts and your done.
MVVS recommend that you select your preferred exhaust orientation before first start-up, to avoid upsetting piston and liner fit.
