Hello
After having great success with the Irvine 40D. I am looking for an upgrade replacement.
That "fits" in and replaces the Irvine 40D I allready have with a little extra.
Of course with a Davis diesel head. But which one will it be ?
I get my hand on a PAW later on.
1. Irvine 53
2. OS 46 AX
3. MVVS 49
Any advice on performance, consumption, reliability ?

I would opt for the 46AX conversion their all good davis heads available for all
wt irvine 53 550 gm
OS 46AX 463 gm
MVVS 40 472 Gm the 49 may be a bit more ( do not have the 49)
MY 46AX gobs of power it is slated to go into my pulse 40 when plane is finished
all weights are with mufflers have all 3 engines martin
typo on original post have the MVVS 40 not 49
Davis thinks I can get a hover with a 13X4 with the AX46

Hello
Does anyone have the performance figures for the OS LA 40 and 46 as converted?
I found an old post on this subject: http://www.rcuniverse.com/forum/m_18..._1/key_/tm.htm
Just trying my luck asking again.
Thanks in advance.

Hello
The MVVS 49 can have the exaust sidewise and rear. But its stated by
MVVS that it shouldnt be repositioned. How can that be and if it can be
done; how is it done ?

The MVVS .49 engine is delivered in side exhaust configuration.
The cylinder assembly bolts into the crankcase. Crankcase and cylinder are not unitary like most 2 stroke engines.
If you want the engine to be rear exhaust, you unbolt the cylinder and head, and and turn the cylinder clockwise 45 degrees. Gently remove and re-align the head, replace the bolts and your done.
MVVS recommend that you select your preferred exhaust orientation before first start-up, to avoid upsetting piston and liner fit.
