Default RE: ca hinges

One of the problems you encounter with this is removal of the old hinges and placement of new ones. I had to do this on my Tiger 60 as I 've talked about in previous posts. As Minnflyer said, the best way is to just take a razor or a sharp (new) exacto knife and cut the old ones and remove the control surface. Take the razor or exaco knife and trim the remnants of the hinge to the surface so none of the old hinge is in the way to intefere with the movement of the surface.

Next.. cut new slots. Not over the old ones, but in a location that will keep the control surface where it belongs, centered on the wing/vert/horiz stabs.. whatever.. in both the surface and the stab/wing as approporate.

Follow the normal method of insstalling the hinges. Minnflyer has discussed the best way to install CA hinges in previous threads, so I won't go into that. But I will say.. do not... ever... never... apply the CA twice. Do the application as required ( "several drops" ) on one side, turn it over and apply on the other side. Then STOP. DO NOT re-apply CA a second time. Once is good. Twice is very bad.

Good luck.
