RE: the simple flying pleasure of a 2M R/E glider
Thr larger gliders ,or older larger gliders fly slower. I generally liked the windfree type of glider to the windrifter type. At present I have a windrifter in my garage that I got fromthe estate of one of older pilots. I plan to fly it this summer. I have the fuse of a Aquila and thw ings that need recovering in my garage .They are the remainds of my favorite glider. I had a fire in my basement 20+ years ago and these are the remains. I just gave away a wanderer that I had for all too many years.
The gliders with thinner wings allow you to go cross country faster.
