Wings rarely balance as built due to different wood density; too much glue on one side, etc. The important thing is for the whole airplane to balance correctly side to side as well as front to back. I've had two of the Graupner Extras which I think are the same as the Seagull and I had to put about a .5 oz of weight in the left wingtip on both of them.
