Looks like some poor quality control to me. I am on my third wild Hare (still have all three) and haven't had a major failure yet but that doesn't mean I don't check my planes for stress problems. The Wild hare instructions recommend you go over new planes with thin CA around high stress joints such as the engine box and servo mounts in order to forstall failures like you had. A good practice for all planes.
The only Wild Hare failure I know about that was like what you experienced was to a 41% plane with around 1000 really hard 3d flights on it. That plane was repaired and is flying again I think.
I am only a sample of one, but the Wild Hare ARFs I have are the best I have run accross and you can't beat their service.
