ive been flying/building rc airplanes on and off since 92' but was introduced to the hobby at a tender age of four (83') thanks to my father.... lately ive been building my skills and my latest/biggest subject was a Maxxair velox......powered by a saito 150, i maidened it this past saturday, and on the third flight i did a level snap roll, and the fuse broke at its weakest joint/point........one of the elder gentleman of the group said that the new lighter arfs are not meant for maneuvers as such.......... my plan is to buy a wildhare v2 50cc edge and fly it with in reason,......should i be concerned about it failing on me like my maxair velox did, doing a basic snap move?

Looks like some poor quality control to me. I am on my third wild Hare (still have all three) and haven't had a major failure yet but that doesn't mean I don't check my planes for stress problems. The Wild hare instructions recommend you go over new planes with thin CA around high stress joints such as the engine box and servo mounts in order to forstall failures like you had. A good practice for all planes.

The only Wild Hare failure I know about that was like what you experienced was to a 41% plane with around 1000 really hard 3d flights on it. That plane was repaired and is flying again I think.

I am only a sample of one, but the Wild Hare ARFs I have are the best I have run accross and you can't beat their service.

I'm with you on the strength o f the WH planes. I've been abusing them for years without a stuctural failure.

Most of the damage to your plane looks like a clean break at the glue-joints. It should be an easy fix.

Just to clarify for some people who do not read carefully, THAT FAILURE WAS NOT IN A WILD HARE PLANE, it happened with some other brand.

FYI I've never seen an actual in-air structural failure in one of our planes that was not preceeded by either some damage or some kind of modification by the user, or some mistake like leaving out the wing retainer screws.

We have several thousand Wild Hare planes out there, if they were falling out of the sky you would have heard about it.

Amen to all of the above positive comments about WH. And let me add a new one, the customer service provided by Tom and Pat is better than just about anyone I can think of at this moment. All of that at a fantastic value for the price.

im sorry Tom i had a few too many last night, and over expressed myself , i probably shouldnt even have made this thread,... The flight failure i had was not in a Wild Hare airplane, it was in a Maxair Velox, it broke in an area i took for granted in an arf.


It didnt break at the motor mount, or the firewall....it broke in the front fuselage region between the wings leading edge and the firewall

Grotesque, don't you have an extra you should be working on??? and your now worrying about a Shukhoi???? Two big planes for me is enough. (WH 50cc Sukhoi, WH 35% Estra) Until one meets its expiration date, no need for another!! hahaha Well until desire exceeds pocketbook restraints.

Not your frault, but I know people who read these forums.

They see a broken plane, it's in the Wild Hare support forum so that instantly jump on it that the plane fell apart and it was one of ours.

Unfortunately many guys don't read anything and just jump to conclusions, and once something like that gets started it can't be stopped.

Tom is right. I think the post should be moved to a different area. Most people do know this is not a WildHare plane, but some may not know. Tom has worked several years to provide the very best performing planes at the very lowest cost to us. I guess I just want to say "Thanks" to Tom and Patty for making some dreams come true.

As to the flaming of WH planes.... I just don't get it. All ARF planes have their quirks to be sure but I have never read anything nor seen anything that would lead me to believe that Tom is selling an Inferior product, if anything maybe superior when you take into account the price and customer service. I guess the people bashing WH products have to try and make themselves feel better by trying to convince themselves and others that paying top dollar means you got the best product. So following that reasoning they jump all over WH planes because the cost is lower. ~shrug

Anyway great plane at a great price in the WH sukhoi and better CS than any other IMO....

I believe you just made Toms point. Nobody is flaming WH Planes here. The original post was about a different plane manufacture not a WH plane.

Moderators, could you please delete or move this post, i dont want to confuse anybody or hurt Wild Hare RC in any way.... i also understand there are people that don't read before making comments, and jump to conclusions like a****s

I own two right know and saving for a third owned four and love em to death. Can't wait to see what happens for the future.
