Lou Crane; Yes, that is exactly what the lever does! The running position is in the middle of it's range of movement. It's nice because you always know exactly where the adjustment is at a glance.
I ran the engine again today and can proudly say that I can now start it within seconds.

Now it is time to mount it and get this gem into the sky!
Oh, I looked it up and the news is true: DeVries will no longer build this engine.

That really is a shame. He makes many other interesting engines, but this one is my personal favorite.
My engine is number 21. I wonder how many he crafted?
