bigedmustafa,
Interesting option.
Few questions:
I don't see that plane in the Tower catalog, how did you find it?
Where did you find the discount code, I'm a new Tower saver member but still trying to figure it out.
Looks like the Radical 330 ARF will wing load around 12 oz/ft2, any idea how it will deadstick?
thanks
Gator
Tower Hobbies will generally e-mail you the new Super Saver Club discount code after the beginning of each month. On February 10th, I received an e-mail with coupon code 011YG for $30 off any purchase of $199 or more. Tower Hobbies may or may not honor that coupon code if you aren't presently a Super Saver club member.
The Radical 330 ARF is miscatagorized as a .51+ - size sport aircraft, for some unknown reason. I don't think Tower had been stocking it until the recent buyout of Lanier by Great Planes, so it was added to the website hastily, would be my guess.
As for the Radical 330's wing loading and how it will deadstick, I've mentioned before that I'm no 3D pilot. I haven't flown the Tribute 36 or Radical 330 ARFs, but I'd expect either to dead stick land quite gently by simply keeping the nose down until a few feet from the ground and then feeding in up elevator to flare the plane right before touchdown.
I do own the Magnum XL .52 RFS engine that I've recommended, and I think it's amazing bargain considering it costs little more than many .46 ball bearing 2-strokes.
